“How many drinks have you had?” Dane asks, grinning.
“Umm…”  I count on my fingers, trying to recall.
“Maybe four?  Or, like, five?”  I shrug.
He takes a sip of the rum and Coke I made him, before
bringing his eyes to mine.  “I really a sorry, Emma.  I feel like
shit about the whole thing.”
“Shit happens,” I say nonchalantly, not letting on how much
the whole scenario humiliated me.
“Assholes cause it,” he agrees.
I giggle.  “You’re funny!  How is it you can be
funny and hot?  You can’t be both.  You have to
choose one or the other,” I announce bossily, but jokingly.  Kinda.
“I guess I’ll choose funny then.  Looks fade, after
Gah!  You’re smart, too?  This is so
He leans toward me, his soft puffs of breath skating over my
face.  “You know, you’re funny and smart and so fucking beautiful,
Emma.  But you’re also humble and kind, and sweet enough to give a guy
like me a toothache.”
“Oh, my god,” I whisper.

He leans in further and then his fingers hold my chin,
keeping me in place, as his lips sweep across mine.  I open up for him and
his tongue invades my mouth.  Soft, sweet, slow.  He tastes like
peppermint breath mints with a hint of spicy rum.  I kiss him back with an
intensity I didn’t know I possessed.

Review Tour - All the Way - M. Mabie

"I was going to keep my word, but I was also keeping her."—Cord Taylor

All the Way is LIVE!

all the way ebook

A contemporary romance with a mouthy redhead and a sexy, charming hero.
Swoon. Laugh. Fall in love.

I’m a man’s man. A bro. A pal. A dude. And I love women.

Am I a saint? Far from it.

Do I go out with a lot of women? You’re damn right.

I date them all. Shy. Loud. Too busy. Lonely. High maintenance. No confidence. No filter. Bad habits. Naive. Beautiful ones. Pretty ones—and believe me there is a difference, but that’s another soap box. Point is, I don’t discriminate.

What do I get out of it? Knowledge. I want to be prepared, adept, and ready.

I might find the perfect woman for me today or a few years from now, but I won’t stop until I do. Then when The One comes along, I’ll be ready to go the distance.

Ready to go all the way.

I’m Cord Taylor, and, lady of my dreams, I’m coming for you.

“Sometimes the one for you is right under your nose, 5 stars”

Cord, oh Cord. Where to start... Cord is a swoon-worthy dude. He’s attractive, funny, cares about everyone around him, all around great dude. His only negative is he likes to date. In his defense, he doesn’t just sleep around, he’s looking for his unicorn. His theory is to date every kind of woman he can think of in the meantime, that way when he finds her he’s well versed in every situation possible. But maybe just maybe all that dating won’t help. Maybe all that knowledge will fly out the window when he meets his match.

Dana is done with dating. She has the worst luck when it comes to men. Dana’s just decided she’s going to say goodbye to the good-looking guys and find a decent guy to settle down with. Only decent guys don’t do it for her. When she meets Cord her best friend’s fiancées best friend, she thinks maybe just maybe she should give a one last hoorah to the good-looking guy, before looking for mister settle down.

When Cord sees Dana, he knows she’s his end game. But when friends get in the way some things you don’t account for happen. Will Cord get his dream woman? Does Dana really have to settle?

I loved All The Way, I loved how Cord tried his best to keep his promise to his best friend. To me that said a lot about his character. The push and pull between these two were undeniable. I loved how sneaky Cord was, trying to implant himself into her life without her catching on. Then there are the secondary characters, all of them were awesome, but Trevor was the best. He might be a seventeen-eighteen-year-old kid, but he had it figured out.

Take a dive with Cord and Dana, you won’t regret it. There will be times you will laugh and then shortly after want to throat punch one of them for being an idiot.

Here are a couple quotes from the story that got to me;

“This has been driving me nuts all day. You have shite in the corner of your eye.” And that, ladies, is love.”

“Tell me one thing that’s worse than a sour towel right when you’re fresh from the shower. That’s another kind of surprise that I didn’t like.”

“It was the hardest, pee-incident-erasing, friend’s-kid-stopping-by-forgetting swoon of my life.”

“I confessed, “I want to do some pretty f’d up, dirty things to you.” She laughed softly, and challenge flashed in her eyes. “Then what are you waiting for?”

Blog Tour & Review - Kiss of the Irish - Lauren Hawkeye

If Sarah Mercer had ever been asked to describe herself in one word, it would be sensible. After all, she had a steady job. Made prudent decisions. Was in what she though was a logical relationship. But when her fiance dumps her for an exotic dancer, Sarah decides it’s time to change…everything! The first thing on her agenda? To get out of town and take a three month trip to Ireland. She’d always been captivated by the Emerald Isle. And she’d heard that there was nothing like an Irishman with a sexy accent and eyes as devastatingly green as the country’s rolling hills to make a girl feel better.

But maybe she shouldn’t have hooked up with her new landlord on the first night in town. Cian Murphy wasn’t supposed to be her type. His arms and chest were tattooed, and he had piercings everywhere. Still, he made her feel beautiful, sexy…alive for the first time in years. Falling for the Irish hottie was as natural as breathing. But figuring out what she’d do when it came time to leave? Not so easy...

“Starting over and finding love in unexpected places, 4 stars”

Sometimes life comes crashing to a halt. It’s like a roller coaster, you know what’s coming, but somehow the roller coaster malfunctions and your stuck upside down with no idea for how long. That’s kind of what happened to Sarah, she didn’t foresee her Fiancée cheating on her, she didn’t realize how truly unhappy she was, both professionally and personally. So, she decided to take her life back into her own hands. Sarah did something so unexpected, she put herself first.

Sarah didn’t realize when she went to Ireland that she was going to make friends, discover who she really wanted to be professionally, and the most unexpected thing to happen to her was love. Love for the people, the country, her art, and herself.

In Kiss of the Irish you watch Sarah go from a shy woman who is afraid to step out of the box to a woman who is comfortable with who she is and isn’t afraid to dish some right back to others.

Cian knew by the picture he saw of his renter that he wanted her, when he met her he was more than blown away, the internet didn’t do the woman justice. But there was a sadness in her eyes that he was determined to chase away. Between his sister, her best friend, and himself they drew Sarah out. The more he got to know her the more he wanted her. Not just for a night, he wanted her for life.

Will Cian, get the girl? Will Sarah decide to say goodbye to her life in the States? Or will someone or something stop her? Kiss of the Irish has a smooth flow. You can’t help but love the characters and the charm of the place. There are only two things I would have changed, I would have added some Irish/Gaelic to it and I would have made the ending a little smoother. The ending was fine it was just a little abrupt for me. Other than that, I have no complaints.

Here are two pieces of Kiss of the Irish that stuck out to me;

“The Yank was innocent, sweet, and surprising as hell. And yet he was pretty sure that once she broke out of her shell, she was going to be more wild than either of them could ever imagine.”

“Some part of her— some rather annoying feminist part— insisted that this was taking womankind back to the time of the caveman. The rest of her shouted at the feminist to shut the hell up and wallowed in the hottest thing ever, which was being wanted so badly that her man just had to scoop her off her feet and take her to his bed.”

About Lauren Hawkeye

Lauren Hawkeye/ Lauren Jameson never imagined that she’d wind up telling stories for a living… though when she looks back, it’s easy to see that she’s the only one who is surprised. Always “the kid who read all the time”, Lauren made up stories about her favorite characters once she’d finished a book… and once spent an entire year narrating her own life internally. No, really. But where she was just plain odd before publication, now she can at least claim to have an artistic temperament.

Lauren lives in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada with her husband, toddler, pit bull and idiot cat, though they do not live in an igloo, nor do they drive a dogsled. In her nonexistent spare time Lauren can be found knitting (her husband claims that her snobby yarn collection is exorbitant), reading anything she can get her hands on, or sweating her way through spin class. She loves to hear from her readers!

Sexy Jerk - about book(1)

My best friend is married.

Everyone I know is married. It doesn’t bother me.

I like my life the way it is.

Since I’m single though, when my best friend and her husband finally decide to go on their dream honeymoon, she asks me to watch their three-year-old son.

Of course I say yes.

What my best friend neglects to tell me is that I won’t be babysitting alone.

Feeling Max might be too much for me to handle, her husband asks his only single friend to help.

Nick Carrington and I have met a couple of dozen times. I’ve never really given him a second thought—other than to say he’s kind of a jerk. Out loud. So he can hear. Sure, he’s tall, dark, and handsome. And yes, he has the best ass I’ve ever seen, and I mean ever seen quite literally. You see he mooned me at last year’s Fourth of July barbecue because, like I said, he’s a jerk.

He always has to be the life of the party.

 He’s also arrogant.

And a playboy.

I’d even go as far as to say he’s a manwhore.

Yet somehow before I know it, this manwhore and I are co-parenting. Living under the same roof. Eating meals together and yes, talking.

Don’t look at me like that—it’s not like I had a choice.

Even though I knew every minute would be hell, I had to say yes.

But after two weeks what I didn’t expect is that I’d been wrong about him.

That under his smart-ass exterior, he’s quite charming.

That his arrogance is actually confidence.

And that the sight of his naked body would do really bad things to me.

So yes, I’ve misjudged him. And yes, I like him. Really like him. Although there are times I still think he’s a jerk…I now think he’s a sexy jerk.

And I want more of him.

The question is—does he want more of me?

REVIEW - All I Ask - Elizabeth York

TITLE - All I Ask
AUTHOR - Elizabeth York

Releases May 23rd

My name is Devan Anderson, I am a photographer and the by product of a cheating father and a childhood evaporated by illness. I'm stubborn, protective, but I care more than I let on. What does a girl like me do when I taste life for the first time?

I'll give you a hint. It isn't what you think.

My name is Ian Jensen and I am a Pediatric Oncologist that works day and night with kids that prove to be braver than I. I am open to Nerf gun fights, having fun, and taking control. What's a doctor who lives life by the book do when given a new chapter to live in?

Ask me again tomorrow?

What happens when a photographer set to live in the dark meets the doctor that lives in the light? What happens when our world collide?

“Hot doctor + shy photographer = chemistry off the charts, 4 stars”

Elizabeth York is a new to me author, going into All I Ask I had never read anything by her. Well I can confidently tell you I plan on changing that now. She wrote a real, beautiful, moving, book with struggle all throughout. The only complaint I have is that at one point it went a little too slow for me and I wanted to speed up the HEA. Other than that, I loved it.

Devan has never had an easy life. She was sick all throughout her childhood leaving her feeling jaded and wanting to keep people at arm’s length away. Her philosophy no matter how skewed is that if you don’t let anyone in then no one can hurt when you die and vice versa.

Devan is an aspiring photographer whose work is phenomenal and wants to give back. She wants to raise money to help kids who were like her. Help ease the burden for the families financially if she can. In those regards Devan is aspiring, there needs to be more people like her and Ian when he comes into the picture.

Ian is a pediatric doctor; his life’s mission is to make those sick kids better that way no family has to go through what his did when his brother died of childhood cancer. When he meets Devan, he has no idea what’s going to happen. Ian has no idea the impact she will make on him and the one he will make on her. He’s a patient man, far more than one should have to be, but he knows that she’s worth it. He falls hard and fast.

Together Ian and Devan are a killer team. Not only raising money but with the kids on the floor at his hospital. York weaved a tale that should have been hard to read but made it happy one. The couple was fantastic, no matter how many times I wanted to Gibbs slap them and the secondary characters are what made the story.

As a mother, there were times it was hard to read when York got to describing the kids but I couldn’t stop. This wasn’t any cut and dry story, the twists had me shouting WTF because there was no way I saw them coming. Take the time, spend the money, and read All I Ask.

Here are a couple pieces from the story that stuck out to me;

“The first time I met you I didn’t think you were real. I thought I had passed exhaustion and was starting to hallucinate because when I looked at you. When I truly saw you, you looked like an angel on your knees.”

“You can’t just buy me a camera every time something upsets me or you screw up,” she admonished me. “No,” I smiled as I moved in so she felt me behind her. “You will need lenses, grips, flashes, and whatever else you use to progress your skill. You truly have a gift.”

“Devan, if I were to fall for you and then you died then I would go to my grave grateful for the opportunity to have had someone as wonderful as you in my life for however long God let me have you.”

Melody Grace has done it again. All for You is a wonderful novel from her Sweetbriar Cove series. I couldn't wait to read this book and I was not disappointed.  This book has romance, but it also has a lot of strength in its characters. I can't wait to see where this series goes.

The plot of this book is much like the first book. A girl moves to a new town and meets a man. What makes these books new and fresh are the characters. While the bones of the plot are the same, the story takes a new turn with each new character, their personality, and back story. I love the plot of these books.

Summer is such a wonderful character. I love her feisty attitude, and her positive outlook. I also love her vulnerable side. She is such a relatable character, especially when it comes to her baggage. Grayson is a great character as well. He is a hunky man that is rough around the edges. That's appealing to most women. He also has a sensitive side and baggage to work through. He is totally book boyfriend worthy.

These two characters sizzle off the pages. When they get together, it's like fireworks. The scenes in this book were hot and sexy, but also felt organic to the characters. This made the book that much more wonderful.

The author has an amazing writing style that keeps me coming back. She had a way of writing that just resonates with me. I love how diverse her characters are in each book. This book specifically has such a wonderful style itself. The pace is steady and the characters are dynamic. The author does an amazing job immersing the readers into this while community she has created.

Overall, this is a amazing book within a magnificent series. The characters are wonderful and the plot relatable. I would recommend this book to others and cannot wait to continue my journey into Sweetbriar Cove.

REVIEW - Screw You - Kasey Millstead

TITLE - Screw You

It doesn’t take me long to discover that revenge is a dish

One finger. Two words.
Screw you.

Screw You is a book full of teenage drama. The book had so much potential but missed the mark. There were some aspects I did like about this book, but it could use some improvements as well.

The plot of this book was intriguing. A girl who is a social outcast gets her revenge on her tormentors. I think anyone who has been bullied would like a book about this. I think the plot was good, but not executed well. I wish there was more related specifically to the plot.

The characters were interesting. I liked Emma. While she has normal reactions to being humiliated, she also is strong. She doesn't let it effect her life long term. Dane was a character I wanted to like, but I don't feel we really got to know him. Everything we learn about him is superficial. I wish we could've gotten to know him better.

The heat in this book was muted. There were some sexual scenes, but there wasn't much of a build up to them. It felt very unnatural. I didn't feel like I had time to really invest in their relationship.

The writing style of this book is ok. I liked the way the author used words and how she created the scenes. I also liked how she wrote Emma. I really liked her character. I thought the pace of the book was unsteady. The time jumps made the story feel fragmented. I also felt that there was a missing conflict in the book. It seemed like the book built up to a climax but never quite made it.

Overall, this book could have been amazing. I really liked the main character, but felt the rest needed improvements. I would not recommend this book to others at this point, but would be willing to give the author another shot.
